Dr. Sarah Kalomiros
I was born in a small farming community in southern Minnesota in a very traditional household of conventional medicine.
My mother was a nurse who fueled my inspiration to be a caretaker, but I also realized that the lack of results coming from traditional medicine was extremely apparent within my own family.
Unsuccessful surgeries, bad reactions to prescription drugs, and the declining health status and vitality of my family left me with a helpless feeling inside.
After seeing a chiropractor in high school who eliminated my intense pain with one adjustment, I knew there was another side of health that I had to explore.
I worked for chiropractors and nutritionists all throughout college, which only fueled my passion for Functional Nutrition.
The combination of chiropractic, nutritional therapies, and our adjunctive detoxification methods have proven the great effectiveness of Functional Nutrition and Chiropractic medicine.
After running a robust clinic in San Francisco for 12 years, I chose to move to Coeur D’Alene, ID to have a more peaceful and natural life for my family. After 4 years of living in CDA I made the decision to start serving my community with the best natural medicine clinic available.
My passion for supporting patients without toxic drugs and invasive surgeries is my lifelong quest. I have dedicated my energy to preserving the wellness of my family, close friends, community and myself in the most natural way possible.
Please come and join me on the quest for Optimal Health!

Jacklyn Callihan
My name is Dr. Jacklyn Callihan and I’m a Chiropractic Kinesiologist and Functional Nutritionist here at the Optimal Living Institute. I am blessed enough to be a Coeur d’ Alene native and am so excited to help heal my
community that helped shape me into the woman and practitioner that I am today.
My desire to become a chiropractor has come from my own personal health journey. In high school I was in a constant battle with fatigue, stomach aches, and cycle regulation problems and struggled to find a doctor that
could give me actual answers. Each time I would go to a doctor their plan of action was a blood draw and a prescription- no actual answers.
It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that my mom and I found natural medicine and then it took a few more months before I found a doctor that actually helped me. I found Dr. Sarah 30 days before moving to
Phoenix for my freshman year of college in the Pre-Nursing program and she changed my life around. Halfway through the first year I realized this is not what I wanted to do, it’s not what worked for my body and I
actually didn’t believe in the prescriptions, drugs, and invasive surgeries so I finished out my year of school and moved to Minnesota to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University. At Northwestern Health Sciences
University I was awarded both my Doctorate of Chiropractic and my Bachelors of Human Biology. Since graduation I’ve been practicing in Coeur d’ Alene, ID-my hometown and my favorite place, and have been incredibly blessed and grateful to give back to my community.

Kala Betschart
Hello my name is Kala Betschart and I am an Internationally Certified Colon Hydrotherapist here at the Optimal Living Institute. I was born and raised right here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I attended the University of Washington in Seattle Washington, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Shortly after moving to Coeur D’Alene in 2015, my health took
a turn for the worst. I was at Urgent Care or the ER almost weekly, medical doctor’s would run test after test each time I was seen. It didn’t take long for me to lose faith in Western Medicine. I started doing research online about the human body and that’s when I discovered Naturopathic Medicine. After spending about 10 minutes with an ND, my life was changed forever. I started to learn about how we should be treating our body and how the body was designed to heal itself. I changed my diet and started using natural herbs to help support my liver. I have to say that Colon Hydrotherapy was the most important tool that I used in order to restore my good health. After just one session, I felt 50% better! Within six months, my health was better than I could
ever imagine. I knew right then and there that I needed to become a Colon Hydrotherapist just through the experience that I had. In 2020, I received my hands-on training for Colon Hydrotherapy in San Diego California at Living Water Wellness Clinic. I am forever grateful for the impact that Colon Hydrotherapy has had on my life and it is now my mission to educate
people about it. I want to help people feel empowered about their health. I want to educate my community about Colon Hydrotherapy because it is a very powerful and underutilized tool in restoring good health.
