Dr. Sarah Kalominos

Dr. Sarah Kalomiros

Dr. Sarah Kalomiros was born in a small farming community in southern Minnesota in a very traditional household of conventional medicine. Her mother was a nurse who fueled her inspiration to be a caretaker, but she also realized the lack of results coming from traditional medicine. Unsuccessful surgeries, bad reactions to prescription drugs, and the declining health status and vitality of her family left Dr. Sarah with a helpless feeling inside.

After seeing a chiropractor in high school who eliminated her intense pain with one adjustment, she knew there was another side of health that needed to be explored. Dr. Sarah went on to South Dakota State University and received her 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, emphasizing in Infectious Disease. She then went on to 4 more years at Northwestern Health Sciences University where she received her Doctorate in Chiropractic Science.

After running a robust clinic in San Francisco for 12 years, she chose to move to Coeur d’Alene, ID to have a more peaceful and natural life for her family. After 4 years of living in Coeur d’ Alene, she made the decision to start serving her community with the best natural medicine clinic available. Dr. Sarah has innovatively combined chiropractic kinesiology, functional nutrition, and lifestyle medicine to provide the most effective, well-rounded care for her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Sarah enjoys golfing with her two children, and exploring North Idaho and all that it has to offer. She also avidly attends medical conferences and lectures to keep herself as up to date as possible with the latest research!

Dr. Sarah’s 20 year career and thousands of patients has earned her the nickname the “Sherlock Holmes” of difficult cases. Her passion for supporting her patients with science-based data, innovative functional nutrition techniques, and personalized lifestyle coaching has been her lifelong quest. She has dedicated her energy to preserving the wellness of her family, close friends, community and herself in the most natural way possible.

Please come and join us on the quest for Optimal Health!

Dr. Jacklyn Callihan

Dr. Jacklyn Callihan

Dr. Jacklyn was born and raised in Coeur d’ Alene and knew from a young age that she was meant to help her community. She has always had a heart for helping people—from volunteering in a food kitchen as a child with her mother and siblings to her career as a chiropractor. Community has always been a driving force for Dr. Jacklyn and she is very passionate about healing the community that helped shape her into the doctor she is today.

In high school, Dr. Jacklyn had her own personal health problems that took her to multiple doctors, many blood draws and not a lot of answers. Many of her visits ended with her providers telling her that they were going to put her on a prescription to cover the symptoms. No one ever dove deep to find the root cause of her problems. After a few years of traditional medical routes, Dr. Jacklyn’s family decided it was time for them to find a different answer. So they looked into holistic healing and natural medicine. Her family found The Optimal Living Institute and within 30 days of her treatment beginning Dr. Jacklyn felt so much better. She headed off to college in a Pre-Nursing program and quickly realized this was not the way she wanted to help her community. So she transferred to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota to become a Chiropractor.

While at NWHSU, Dr. Jacklyn was able to dive deep into holistic healing and joined a few clubs and attended many seminars to help expand her knowledge more than just what her school was teaching her. While in chiropractic school, Dr. Jacklyn also worked on and received her Bachelor’s in Human Biology. During her last 8 months of school she was able to move back to Idaho to intern under Dr. Sarah Kalomiros at The Optimal Living Institute. After graduating in April 2022 and receiving her Doctorate of Chiropractic, Dr. Jacklyn was offered a full-time position at The Optimal Living Institute and has been here ever since.

In her free time, Dr. Jacklyn enjoys working out, spending time in the kitchen, and hanging out with her family. She loves playing a game of cribbage over breakfast and admiring the beauty of North Idaho. She enjoys listening to podcasts and lectures, to continue to elevate her education.

Dr. Jacklyn strives to be the doctor to give you hope and reassurance when you feel hopeless. She is so excited to work with you!
